Bruttito Multiplaza Mall

An elderflower spritz on the table at Bruttito, Multiplaza, beside a branded napkin

The verdict

A mall brasserie doing sushi rolls better than a mall brasserie has any business doing, and a pistachio cookie worth staying for.

Service is the quiet strength here. On both visits the table was ready, water arrived as we sat, and nothing dragged.

The rolls are the reason to come: the beef-wrapped Angus and the tuna ATP 13 both need a dip of soy, and both are worth ordering.

We went back for brunch on a busy Sunday and the sushi took twenty minutes rather than ten, which on a full room is fair enough.

Skip if

  • You are going on a busy Sunday. The sushi took twenty minutes rather than ten, which was the room being full rather than anything wrong.
  • You do not want to reach for the soy sauce. Both rolls need it.

Would we go back? Yes, and we already have. There is more of the menu to get through.

The visit

An elderflower spritz on the table at Bruttito, Multiplaza, beside a branded napkin

Seated in a minute, water straight away

An elderflower spritz, on the table about five minutes after ordering. Service was good on both visits and that is not a small thing in a shopping centre.

The Angus 15 roll at Bruttito: seared beef wrapped around rice, sliced along a dark slate

The Angus roll is the one

Seared beef wrapped around the rice instead of nori, sliced the length of a slate. Delicious, and definitely better with soy sauce.

Two rolls side by side at Bruttito, the beef-wrapped Angus and the tuna-topped ATP 13

Order both, and keep the soy close

The Angus and the tuna ATP 13 together. The tuna one has a garlicky something on top that we liked a lot, and it wants the same dip the Angus does.

A sashimi plate at Bruttito with salmon, tuna and whitefish on an orange dish

The sashimi, three ways

Salmon, tuna and a whitefish. Delicious, and the plate we would add if there were four of you rather than two.

A warm pistachio cookie served on a dark plate at Bruttito

Stay for the pistachio cookie

Warmed through and very good, ordered after everything else with an americano alongside it. Do not skip this.

Brunch at Bruttito: Mediterranean eggs with flatbreads, and an Angus burger with fries

The second visit was brunch

Mediterranean eggs with flatbreads, and an Angus burger cooked medium. The eggs were the surprise of the two; the burger was good and standard. We ordered the ATP 13 again, because of course we did.
